If you can't find the phone number at all for a specific location, there is one more option. You can call 800-ASK-USPS to receive further assistance. The representative will be able to give you the phone number of any post office location you need. Apr 12, 2018 - Trump orders an evaluation of the Postal Service following his criticism of Amazon. Shoulders of the USPS and Trump is not just talking the talk but now. Amazon more for parcel delivery, a person who previously worked at.
I'm trying to track down a lost international package. I went to the post office and they told me to call 1-800-222-1811.
I did that, but it keeps asking me for the tracking number. Every time I say the tracking number it misunderstands me.
I can't type it in because there are letters in the tracking number. I've tried everything to talk to a human, but there doesn't seem to be a way.
Constantly hitting 0 doesn't work and staying on the line just makes it explain the menu over and over again (dumbing it down a little more each time). One time I somehow got it to go to customer service, but it disconnected me. I tried an email, but they said to call the 800 number! This is insane!!! Sadly, the USPS is a 19th Century bureaucracy doing its damnedest to ignore 21st Century technology.which 'tracking number' are you trying to use? Customs Form 2976A? Try the consignee country's postal website - unless its Italy you can often get better imfo from them than the USPS.
Otherwise, make nice with the real live humans at the mailing PO - some post offices have 1 employee Who Actually Knows How the System Works and is Actually Willing To Help. Smile a lot and compliment the latest stamp artwork. This is really getting crazy. I called 800‑275‑8777 and I was able to speak to someone. They told me to go to the post office to file a claim.
So, I went to the post office and they said they don't have the forms and that I need to call 1. So, I call that number and after a few tries I managed to talk to a person. Now this person said they have to do an 'investigation' (which will take 23 days) before I can file a claim. I feel like I'm in bureaucratic hell.
Say what you want about UPS and Fedex, they're quick and professional when it comes to customer service. They only take a few weeks to deny a claim, lol. It's almost 4 months since I originally shipped the package! Fortunately the buyer is understanding and I think it's too late for her to file a paypal claim. It was her fault anyway. The package got there fine, but she was on vacation and it was returned to the US. Her post office claims it's in San Francisco, and the USPS claims it was sent back to her.
I have no idea why they would send an undeliverable package back to the US and then back to the undeliverable address again. I go through the same crap with that USPS 800 number when trying to track down lost light bulb shipments, they never ever call you back, it's a worthless USPS service. I bitched to the local post office and they said the 800 number was outsourced and really not part of USPS, gee, that's a suprise, outsourcing many times is worthless!! The postal clerk said the postal union won the case to bring the 800 service back to USPS employees so they claim it will improve soon. My local clerk said he called the number many times and was treated with total disrespect like he was an idiot, he told them he worked for USPS over 25 years and knows more about the postal system then they ever will!! Good luck, I wish you well, Dave.:nono.
